ANDREA IANNONE #29

Andrea Iannone, Speed Master rider, started his two-wheel career with Abruzzo Junior team, as he took part in the Italian and Spanish national Championships, after some brilliant performances on pocket bikes. The good results he achieved in both Championships gave him the chance to move up the World Championship in the 125cc class, as an official rider throughout 2005 on an Aprilia machine.

He finished the year of his debut with the twentieth position in the General Classification. In 2006 Andrea became part of Ticino Hosting Campetella Racing’s line-up, together with  the Italian Simone Grotzkyj, on an Aprilia motorbike: the rider from Abruzzo ended the season in 22nd position.

In 2008, thanks to the experience earned from the previous years, Iannone conquered his first pole position and his first victory in the 125cc World Championship, turning into one of the riders to keep an eye on throughout 2009, for the better and for the worse. Despite three outstanding victories, he just managed to finish the Championship in seventh position because of lack of consistency.

However, his great talent and his doubtless technical skills persuaded Luca Boscoscuro to take him as an official rider of FIMMCO Speed Up team. Andrea’s 2010 was incredible, and he ended the year with the third spot in the overall Classification, with a total of three victories, two second places, three third places and five pole positions.

In 2011, he jumps on a Suter machine with Speed Master team. The beginning of the season is quite thrilling, with a second place in Qatar and a victory in Jerez. Despite that, Andrea doesn’t manage to be always within the top riders because of the lower level of competiveness of his machine. He ends the year with the victories in Brno and Motegi, and the second place in Aragón and the podium in San Marino. He finishes with the third position in the overall Classification.

Iannone stays with Speed Master for 2012, but there’s a change of machine: a Speed Up motorbike. The objective is to be competitive in all circuits and to fight for some great results, as well as entertain his fans.

In 2012 also he confirmed his amazing talent finishing the championship in 3rd position. He was one of the protagonist of the season.
In 2013 the contractual agreement with the Italian Borgo Panigale Ducati it allows him to express his potentiality. He'll compete in the coveted category of MotoGP.
